Talk to Josef Hargrave

Our Drivers of Change programme investigates the key global issues and trends driving change in the built environment. From climate change to urbanisation to poverty, each set examines the top 25 drivers of change impacting our societies and markets.
What will our world be like in 2050? Drivers of Change is a research-based publication developed by Arup to help its business and clients identify and explore leading factors which will affect our world in the future.
The programme is a planning tool that helps the user to ask the right questions in order to plan effectively for the future. The ten topics (climate change, convergence, demographics, energy, food, oceans, poverty, urbanisation, waste, and water) can be explored through any, or all, of the five STEEP lenses (social, technological, economic, environmental, and political).
The Drivers of Change programme is a unique tool that has helped facilitate design and innovation projects, business strategy and education programmes across the world. ”
Facilitating conversations about change
Our Drivers of Change programme has been used in stakeholder engagement programmes and workshops around the world. The Drivers of Change cards are used to explore and prioritise global trends that will have an impact on a specific project, business or market context. The cards have also helped inform research and learning programmes with schools and universities.
