Tom is a researcher, writer and editor, working to explore and communicate the future of the built environment across our research reports, consultancy projects and online tools.
Tom co-authored our Living Workplace and Rethinking Urban Mobility reports, and is the lead editor for Arup Inspire, a growing collection of emerging ideas and case studies from around the world. He is interested in speculative fiction and urban identity, and has lived and worked in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
He is also an Associate Lecturer on MA Narrative Environments at Central Saint Martins, exploring narrative theory in spatial contexts. Alongside this, Tom designs exhibition, installation and film projects for organisations including the V&A and the National Trust.
In 2017 Tom presented at the World Creativity Forum, Aarhus, as part of their Creative Cities & Neighbourhoods of Opportunity programme. In 2018 he contributed to Prejudice and Pride: LGBTQ heritage and its contemporary implications, published by the Research Centre for Museums and Galleries.
